Associate Professor; Director, Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance

With over three decades of experience in the financial industry, Fadel Lawandy’s areas of specialization include banking, corporate finance, capital restructuring, distressed debt, M&A, private equity, REITs, venture capital and more. Fadel joined Chapman University after retiring as the executive managing director of HW Financial Group, serving as the co-founder and president of HW Capital Partners and managing an event-driven equity fund at Smith Barney.

Dr. Marc Weidenmier

Professor; Academic Director, MS in Finance Program
Dr. Weidenmier holds the David Stone Professorship in Economics and is also a Research Associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research, an organization affiliated with Harvard and MIT. He also serves as a voting member for the Nobel Prize in Economics. His work explores how economic shocks can trigger social conflict and financial crises, using data-driven insights to uncover these connections. His research bridges the fields of macroeconomics and finance.
